Assam Women Tops in Alcohol Consumption among all the states and UTs (Union Territories) !!!!!

According to Union Ministry Of Health & Family Welfare (MoH&FW) Survey 2019-20 data shows that 26.3% women in Assam who are in the 15-49 years age category consume alcohol which is the highest among all the states and Union territories. The correspondence national figure in that category is 1.2% .All figures for all other states & Union territories are under 10% . The report cited that 44.8% women in Assam consume alcohol once in a week. Nearly about 62.5 million people in India drink alcohol with the per capita consumption being around four litres per adult per year. Similarly, 51.9% of men from Assam consume alcohol once a week, while the pan-India statistics is 40.7%.
